Firefox Launches Webify Me to Visualize Our "Unique Web"
Trinkets and tchotchkes rule the day in this unusual visualization of our personal Web.
Last month, Visual.ly attempted to bring the world a new dimension of infographics. The site is still being pieced together, but its Twitterize feature – which lets you measure any two Twitter accounts side-by-side – is very impressive.
Now Firefox is getting in on the visualization game with Webify Me, which is described as a “visual manifestation of your personal web.” By answering 20 different multiple-choice questions (such as, “It's late Friday afternoon, and you're still online - how do you finish the week?” and “How social is your network?”), Webify Me will attempt to visualize your Web-surfing experience by throwing relevant items onto the screen.
For example, one of my items turned out to be an instant photo, representing the “instant memory, quickly frozen and indelibly saved. Yours is the nostalgic type, pouring over cherished images and captured moments.”
Under a black notebook that appeared, Webify Me said that I'm “in good company — beloved by visionaries before you, the little notebook says you know how to express yourself and keep it buttoned up at the same time. You know the best experiences deserve a record.”

Interestingly, Webify Me also provided some generic-looking action figures, along with the following message: “A significant cultural heroic icon looms large in your inner nerd psyche. Embrace it. (We really don't want to get into the whole trademark thing, OK?)” And that was without knowing a thing or asking a single question about my Mario and Nintendo obsession!
Clearly Webify Me is smart. But it's far from perfect. Since the questions are multiple-choice, you are bound to find a few that don't have a desirable answer. In that event, the site provides a skip feature. However, Webify Me insists that it doesn't share your answers with others – so you could feasibly select any answer just to see the corresponding trinket.
But if you wish to share your resulting visuals, you can do so by copying the provided URL. Here's mine: http://mzl.la/n0W2OV.
